Position Summary: After a client has applied for their next apartment or closed on their new home, the Relocation Consultant bridges the gap between signing and move-in as well as acting as a continuity liaison during their time at home--and beyond! The Relocation Consultant is an inside sales role that provides an incredible customer experience and operates in a sales-driven environment, meeting and exceeding quotas, making the moving process as simple as possible for clients with the goal to leave a lasting impression that encourages the retention of clients, motivating them to utilize Smart City for their next apartment search.

Essential Functions:

  • Inbound Sales:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients during their moving process.
    • Build strong relationships with clients to guide and support them throughout the Connect process.
    • Proactively engage with clients before their move-in date to ensure a seamless moving experience.
    • Identify and prioritize clients’ unique needs, curating personalized solutions to connect them with the best utility providers and move-in services.
    • Oversee all aspects of client orders from start to finish, including reviewing service options, placing orders, and resolving any issues.
    • Leverage multiple platforms to communicate effectively with clients, internal teams, external partners, and vendors while managing sales pipelines through various CRMs.
    • Ensures quotas and business objectives are met.
  • Deliver Client-Focused Service:
    • Engage with clients via text, telephone, and email to provide guidance, support, and information throughout the entire moving process, starting from the point of application submission.
    • Communicate with customers to resolve problems and concerns in a courteous, professional, and timely manner.
    • Manage and resolve process delays quickly and efficiently to maintain a seamless experience.
    • Update and maintain client accounts with detailed records of inquiries, complaints, and feedback.
    • Provide ongoing support to retain clients and foster long-term relationships.
    • Ensure timely responses to all inbound communications, delivering detailed, accurate, and error-free outbound communication.
    • Utilize the team and management as a resource and follow proper channels of communication.
    • Apply a high level understanding of ‘Smart City’ business process and strategy to tend to the needs of both the business and our clients.
  • Be the Connect Service subject matter expert.
  • Be agile and adjust execution strategies based on current business needs, assist with process review and improvement.
  • Plan and participate in company promoted events, promote internally and externally as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborative sessions, generate new ideas and execute.
  • Assist with efforts in other markets, as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
  • 1+ years of customer service team experience
  • 1+ year of outside or inside sales experience
  • Experience in a client-facing sales, customer service, hospitality, or retail position is preferred

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, etc)
  • Experience with Excel or Google Sheets is preferred
  • Experience using a CRM platform to manage a client pipeline and leverage outside SAAS platforms for communication
  • Understanding of Mac OSX and iPhone iOS for business
  • Proficient with social media platforms
  • An empathy-driven mindset with the desire to surprise and delight each client
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective time management, project coordination, and ability to meet multiple deadlines
  • Strong communication and active listening skills with the ability to handle feedback
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment where they get to try new things
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable with data entry & cold calling

Physical Requirements:

  • Hybrid in-office role based out of our Dallas HQ, primarily remote.
  • Assures that safety regulations are followed at all times.
  • Adherence to compliance measures implemented by governing bodies such as but not limited to OSHA & the CDC. Follows policies and procedures including infection control, universal precautions, and exposure control plans when performing daily tasks.
  • Reports hazardous conditions, accidents, and incidents to the immediate supervisor.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching.

Expected Hours of Work:

  • Typical business hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday, availability for escalations may be needed outside of normal business hours.

Travel:

  • 10% of the time.
  • Minimal travel may be required for business functions, team training, and culture events.


Compensation and Benefits:

  • Smart City truly believes that in order to attract and retain top talent, Total Compensation must be competitive.
  • Compensation range for this role is $40,000-75,000 including base salary + commission
  • Eligibility for quarterly commission payout dependent on performance
  • Eligibility for medical, dental, and vision coverage as well as a 401(k) plan subject to plan terms.
  • Eligibility for company-paid benefits such as company paid and voluntary life insurance, short & long term disability, and parental leave subject to applicable waiting periods.
